Assignment Summary
Motorcycle owners love their motorcycles.
And GEICO understands this dedicated and involved motorcycle rider.
We are looking for a non-fiction documentary-style video illustrating people’s love for their motorcycles. The video should not be about saving money with GEICO, but should instead focus on people’s relationships with their bikes and by extension showing that GEICO insures the things that people love best.
We are targeting male 25-44 year old motorcycle owners. The target audience is not people who own sport bikes, like the Kawasaki Ninja or Suzuki GSXR or people who are stereotypical “biker dudes.” The target audience is upper middle class men who own cruisers or touring bikes, like Honda Gold Wings or Harley-Davidsons.
The video should be between 1 minute and 3 1/2 minutes in length. The tone should be respectful but doesn’t have to be over-serious. It can be humorous or slightly edgy, but tasteful (G-rated, not PG-13). Without using our icons (no Cavemen, Geckos, Stacks of Money, or Xtranormal characters), create something entertaining and engaging.
Please read the creative brief for all the important details. The assignment is open to anyone 18 or older anywhere in the world.
GEICO will select at least one video for use and its creator will receive a one-time fee of $7,500. Plus Poptent will be paying out a total of $2,000 in Editors’ Choice awards.
