Nearly all the videos in our Garnier-Fructis “Look Amazing. Live Fearless” assignment showcase our community’s consistent ability to find great talent and produce gorgeous, on brief spots. The brand was absolutely thrilled with the results and is purchasing 6 spots, 4 more than the two guaranteed purchases! Congratulations to producers Sto-Lo/Dob Films, Sean Cunningham, willa119, dancing machine, pretty monkeys, and mark nobre, whose spots are each being purchased for $7,500. Check out a video shot by our very own Director of Community, Mark Schoneveld on the Nexvio 8mm camera app. Full disclosure – this is a music video for my band, and I can’t skateboard. The footage was shot on a laid back summer day, right outside of Poptent East HQ!
The video was shot using the Siena filter and slowed down a bit in post to give it that hazy summer vibe. The filter, in combination with the time of day really gives this video that “magic hour” feel. What a way to spruce up your boring iPhone ids!

I’m back on the blog with some updates from the world of Poptent technology! It’s a beautiful land with cascading falls of HTML and wondrous caves of server racks. Anyway, this time around we have just a quick update from the media page.
If you’re a seasoned Poptent veteran, you’ll remember our old media page had a related media widget. It served up more videos from the related assignment or the creator, but it wasn’t particularly easy to use. There wasn’t much of an order to things and it was a challenge to navigate assignment submissions.
Now we’ve replaced it with the More from this assignment widget. This nifty tool builds an ordered list of all assignment submissions and allows you to click through each of them, watching, commenting, and liking as you go!

Have you noticed the text buttons on the media page are no more? Don’t worry these simple icon buttons do the same things! From left to right they are – like, share, and download. Clicking that like button fills the heart with cheer and adds you to the liker list. Share will open up our fancy sharing panel where you can copy a link, email, or create a custom embed code. Finally the download button, where available, opens a panel where you can choose to download the original file or any available encodes with a single click.

We had such a fun time watching all of the spots from our Olivieri assignment. Some of the best animators on Poptent came out for this one – and the quality of the spots really impressed. With that being said, it’s now time to get into some Editor’s Choice Awards.

Pizza Hut came to Poptent looking for our community to, um, deliver, some great spots. As usual, our community came through in a big way with a group of very strong videos. Congratulations to producer Jonathan Pezza, whose spot “Mmmm In Any Language”, is receiving our top Editor’s Choice Award of $500. Runners up Julian Diaz, Al Heck, d1980p, and kevinromeo will each receive $250 for their great videos. The community made it super hard to choose the Editor’s Choice Awards for our Monistat assignment. Amongst the close to 100 uploads, there are a lot of great spots that span the range from humorous to serious to straight up informational approaches all the way to spots featuring the male perspective. In the end, the spot that is probably the most unique approach in the group is taking home the top $500 award. Congratulations to the ever-creative Fruit Bonus Films, who are taking home the top award for their spot “Monistat “Ages” “. Runners up Jeleighsim, john.brankin, Kiasmus, and talkierobots are all earning a well deserved $250 for their spots.
