The day I retire I will go back to producing documentaries. Meantime, I do what I can when I can. I used to produce television (some news, but mainly marketing and promotion on-air (the quick stuff) and off-air (the really fun long-form stuff) at NBC. I've produced so many commercials that I lost count a very very long time ago. Having done my time in a newsroom, I work very fast when I need to. I also love to act, and when you need someone 6'9" to stand tall and ominous, I'm your guy. Hence my role in 1990 as King Konrad the II in Auf den Spuren der Salier in Germany (see photo), which later apparently became a miniseries on German TV. On stage, I played Clive in Cloud Nine and Isabella Bird in Top Girls, both wonderfully well scripted Caryl Churchill productions. I learned to shoot from some pretty telented folks, and to my wife's chagrin, carry around a nice Sony 1080i professional camera when I have time. I can score my way out of a box, but just don't match up to incredible professionals I've worked with over the years. People tell me "I get it" when it comes to editing, which to me is the greatest compliment. Go Poptent. Fill it up and raise the roof.
